Steel Life is a film journey about the Central Andean Railway during the week of Peru’s national holiday. The train goes through steep gradients, carrying minerals from Cerro de Pasco, at 4380 m of altitude, to the Port of Callao in the Ocean Pacific shore.
The film gives voice to the silent witnesses of the passing of this train, which paradoxically carries in its cargo all the wealth of a country and leaves in its wake precariousness and unfulfilled promises.
